Severn Trent backs outlook despite influx of storms
Severn Trent PLC (LSE:SVT) has told investors that an influx of storms in recent months will not impact the water company's financial performance for the year. Severn Trent and United Utilities update with sewage uppermost again

Severn Trent results well received after revenue climbs
Severn Trent PLC (LSE:SVT)'s first half results received a warm welcome from analysts and investors alike, as increased revenue saw shares in the water firm climb on Wednesday. Reporting on the six months to September, FTSE 100-listed Severn Trent announced a near-10% jump in revenue to £1.17 billion driven by higher earnings from its consumer business.
Severn Trent to raise £1 billion as pledges to tackle leaks and spills
Severn Trent PLC (LSE:SVT) moved to bolster its finances unveiling a £1 billion fund raise including a £500 investment from Qatar Investment Authority and a £500m placing. The news came as the water company unveiled plans to invest £12.9 billion between 2025-2030 as part of its business plan for the regulatory period beginning April 1 2025 and ending March 31 2030 as it seeks to cut leakages and sewage spills.

Inflation figures, Severn Trent, Tesla and Netflix due on Wednesday
Inflation should be the dominant theme on Wednesday, with an update after data a month ago showed UK core inflation hitting a 31-year high, while the headline consumer price index also surprisingly held steady at 8.7%, when it had been expected to ease. Another surprise on the upside could force the Bank of England to hike rates to 5.5% at the meeting next month.
Severn Trent first water utility to update after Thames chaos
Severn Trent Water's first quarter update next week would have been testing enough even before the near collapse of peer Thames Water. Thames looks to have staved off failure and nationalisation for now with a new cash injection, but its woes have brought the issue of the financial structure of water utilities to the fore.
